SCORES is an EU funded Horizon2020 research project focusing on the production (electricity and heating & cooling production), storage and consumption of energy in residential buildings. It aimed at developing technologies to maximize the share of energy self-consumption in the residential market. This project is in line with the objectives set at European level for renewable energies and energy independence, in a context where the challenge is to increase the self-consumption of locally produced renewable energy at a lower cost. Different European climatic zones are considered in order to take into account the different situations between countries.
The SCORES project will concretely provide the development of key technologies (long-life batteries, heat pumps, Building Energy Management Systems), the life extension of storage systems to 20 years (electricity and heat) and a 20% reduction of energy bills for the final customer.
